Our theme of the era of steam locomotives in the USA is completed by the ‘American Water Tower’. This traditional design was built throughout the first half of the 20th century along railway lines in the United States to quickly supply locomotives with water. A round wooden water tank with a flat sloping roof and numerous flat steel rings rests on a filigree steel frame with a central maintenance tower. Depending on the water pressure, these rings are arranged closer together from top to bottom. The level in the tank could be read using a level gauge.

This product is available in two versions: as a wooden tank with flat steel rings and as a steel tank with a rust-brown finish. These towers were erected to the side of the railway line so that the locomotives could be refueled with water via a lowerable filling pipe.
